Good Morning,
Yesterday I went on a little mission... you see I wanted & needed to make almond milk out the the soaked almonds I had sitting on the counter for the past two days...
So I made a stop...
And came home with a Sieve (why yes that is exciting)!
Now on to the tutorial:
"How to make Almond Milk"
Can I just say that I am SOOOOO Happy I tried this?
Seriouly it was EASY, and a little fun.
What you will need:
Blender
Sieve (or something for straining)
1 Cup of "Raw" Soaked Almonds
1 Mejool Date (optional)
Vanilla (optional)
1 Mejool Date (optional)
Vanilla (optional)
(1) Soak Raw Almonds overnight, and rinse before using.
It will be frothy (is that a word?) similar to cows milk.
(3) Strain through Sieve (or cheese cloth)
I made a double batch (using 2 cups of almonds) which made two quart jars.
The final result – 2 Quarts of good and easy almond milk. Store in the refrigerator and try to use within a week. You will need to stir the almond milk every time you bring it out of the refrigerator to use since it does settle.
Bottom line: Try it, It’s worth it.

Yum! I love almond milk on my cereal.
ReplyDeleteAnd, oh ya, I adore Williams Sonoma.
So tell me, how does it compare to store bought? I love me some almond milk.
ReplyDeleteTo be 100% honest it does taste "a little" different but I LOVE it. Really love it. If you add a date & vanilla you won't regret making a batch I promise!
ReplyDeleteI made it yesterday but actually didn't like the taste! Smelling it made me feel a little queasy. I wonder if I did something wrong - it could have been a bad or poor quality batch of almonds. I didn't add the date or vanilla though!

Leia,
ReplyDeleteGosh girl I don't know what to say... maybe it was a combo of bad almonds and no added flavoring? I have made this milk at least a dozen times and not once has it not turned out right... Good luck next time :+)
Possible, I'll try again. Thank you :)
