If you were to poke around...

I'm a collector at heart. But because of my tidy nature I really dislike things "sitting out". Of course this also means I also refuse to store anything unless its holiday related. I figure if I can't use it then give it to someone that can - I hate clutter. This of course has been really hard to control this year while we are renting.

Anyway, I'm rambling on what I wanted to show you was my way around it. I know I've mentioned that I collect rocks from places we visit but its slowly turned into me picking up drift wood at lakes and rivers now too.

I'll show you.

It's just a tree in the corner right?

Ok a tree in the corner with sticks...

Oh wait.

Those sticks have words on them.

Because the person that lives here collects sticks. And rocks.

I can't help but wonder what you'd think if you stubbled upon this... Would you understand and "get it" or just call me crazy? Or would you be curious like me and start lifting everything around looking for more clues?

PS: I've also been known to stash 'memories' in flowerbeds, books on a shelf, under an item I know won't be lifted. I guess it's my way of always having a treasure hunt down memory lane whenever I'm good and ready.

Not weird at all, as a matter of fact I might start collecting rocks I really like the idea.

Ooooh do I sense that this "green home" event will be full of giveaways too? Is it safe to assume they're back? :o)

  4. I've done this once or twice myself. I do it more now when my son brings a treasure home. As a child, my sisters and I wrote little notes underneath the banister of the stairs in the house that we grew up in. You could only see them if you were sitting on the steps, which only kids did. We also did the same thing in the pantry under the stairs and in our closets. Years later it was fun to look back on.

  5. A soul after my own heart! I love rocks and sticks, too! The guys that moved my stuff did not. I had forgotten I had an entire old prim trunk stuffed full of agates and pieces of beach glass and 'worm' rocks and sticks! They were not quite as enamored as I!
